ARNAP and UNICEF Continue to Assess Disaster and Climate Risks in Communities

Running through May 2027, this phase will cover assessment of 11 consolidated communities: Sevan, Gavar, Hrazdan, Charentsavan, Nor Hachn, Byureghavan, Akunk, Ashtarak, Armavir, Vagharshapat and Baghramyan.

Work is already well underway. During the current quarter, assessments in Gavar, Charentsavan, and Sevan have reached their final stages. Data collection in these communities has been completed using all tools defined by the assessment methodology, and the findings are now being finalized.

In Nor Hachn, the assessment process is at an earlier stage. A wide range of information has already been collected from secondary sources and is currently being classified and analyzed, while the team is preparing for field visits to the settlements.

As part of this phase, the project team is also testing a number of automated tools designed to support data digitalization, identify links and patterns through automated algorithms, and assist experts in the analysis process. The team plans to further improve these tools and, if testing produces positive results, propose them for wider use.
